Due to the special importance of NFPA fire pumps, a standard has been developed according to the material and performance characteristics. These requirements must be met for compliance with NFPA 20. According to these conditions, it is seen that fire pumps are quite different from other pumps. - Fire pump shutoff head should not exceed 140% of the nominal value
- Recommended the maximum system demand flow correlate to a point on pump curve between 90% to 140% of the pump capacity
